Prof. Dr. Anke Weidenkaff receives GDCh-GCCCD Award for Excellent Supervisors of Chinese PhD Students

As part of the 33rd Annual Conference of the GCCCD, Prof. Dr. Anke Weidenkaff, Director of Fraunhofer IWKS, was awarded the GDCh-GCCCD Award for Excellent Supervisors of Chinese PhD Students.

Since 2017, the award has been presented by the Society of Chinese Chemists and Chemical Engineers in the Federal Republic of Germany (GCCCD®) and the German Chemical Society (GDCH) to university lecturers who supervise Chinese PhD students at German colleges, universities or research institutions with special commitment. It is endowed with 5,000 euros and was donated by Dr. Dahai Yu, a founding member of the GCCCD® and former member of the Executive Board of Evonik Industries AG.

The GCCCD annual conference took place at the Fraunhofer IWKS site in Alzenau. Under the motto "Chemistry and Chemical Engineering for a Sustainable Future", the latest research findings on sustainability, circular economy, materials and green technology innovations were discussed in lectures and poster sessions.
