The delegation visiting the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater

Under the leadership of Roland Weigert, State Secretary in the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, a delegation of representatives from industry and science visited Egypt from October 26 to 30, 2019. Prof. Dr. Rudolf Stauber represented the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Materials Recycling and Resource Strategies IWKS with the aim of establishing new contacts for research cooperation and project partners. Among other things, the delegation visited construction sites of a Bavarian civil engineering company operating in Egypt, an Egyptian waste water disposal company and the BMW assembly plant in Cairo. The water supply and waste water treatment is an increasingly growing investment focus for Egypt. The Egyptian Holding Company for Water and Wastewater and Fraunhofer IWKS are thus aiming for joint projects in the future for cooperation in wastewater treatment.
