Session 7

Green ICT

In the session Green ICT we discuss the impact of information and communication technology (ICT) on our environment. The increasing energy demand of our digital infrastructure is an important factor to manage on the way to a carbon-neutral society. At the same time we distribute more and more precious elements into products to extend the internet of things (IoT) leading to an increase in electronic waste. Green ICT includes energy saving or energetically autonomous devices, smart and efficient systems, and resource oriented design and manufacturing of electronics.
