The future of hydrogen - A dialogue about the energy of tomorrow!

On June 27 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., researchers from the high-performance center hydrogen Hesse invite interested citizens, families and students to the EXPERIMINTA ScienceCenter in Frankfurt am Main for an exciting dialogue on the topic of "Hydrogen as the energy of the future". There will be hands-on stations, experiments, lectures and opportunities to talk to the research sci-entists. The event is free of charge and registration is not necessary.

Hydrogen is a much-discussed topic. It is considered to be one of the cornerstones of climate-neutral, sustainable energy and mobility in the future. Numerous research institutions are working on a wide range of issues relating to hydrogen - including the Fraunhofer IWKS and Fraunhofer LBF in Hesse. But what exactly are they researching and how is this to be implemented? What challenges do industry and society face in terms of technology, infrastructure and distribution? The Citizens' Dialogue on Friday, June 27 at the EXPERIMINTA ScienceCenter Frankfurt Rhine-Main will provide answers to these questions.

Hydrogen: See-experience-understand!

The event offers an informative hydrogen lecture and the "Meet the Scientist" series, which is particularly aimed at families, children and young people. Visitors gain exciting insights into the world of science through interactive elements and can talk to the research scientists.

Important questions that are answered:

  • What is hydrogen?
  • How is hydrogen produced?
  • How can electricity be generated with hydrogen?
  • Why is hydrogen sustainable?

Various interactive experiments and hands-on stations presented by researchers from the Fraunhofer institutes provide answers to these questions, from electrolysis and fuel cell models to hydrogen model cars.

Opportunity for questions and dialogue with experts

The dialog forum offers interested citizens presentations from the sections on mobility and energy supply. Experts from Mainova AG, Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund GmbH and Deutsche Bahn AG will shed light on the challenges and potential of hydrogen technology in everyday life.

In a panel discussion, advisors including Dr. Sven Grieger from Fraunhofer IWKS and Marc Gasper, Deputy Head of the Climate Department of the City of Frankfurt, will discuss the challenges and potential of hydrogen as the energy of the future. They will answer questions from the associated institutes and thus offer a valuable opportunity for dialogue.
