Thermal analysis

Processes in research and developing areas, such as materials science and process engineering, are desired to be controlled and understood. Among different methods of characterization thermogravimetric analysis (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) coupled with mass spectrometry (MS) are used for various analyzing approaches like phase transitions of solids, which also can be investigated via high temperature x-ray diffraction. The sintering behavior of multi-phase materials or nano crystals, e.g. Nd-Fe-B magnets, can be surveyed via thermo-optic measurements at temperatures up to 2000 °C, adjustable atmospheres and in high vacuum.
