Analyte:         

  • Magnetically hard or soft samples
  • Requirements: mechanically stable, polished surfaces
  • Sample dimension:
    • Magnetically hard samples: diameter up to 58 mm, height 12 mm to 42 mm minimum, depending on sample and measuring condition
    • Magnetically soft samples: poles, plates and rings of different dimensions, minimum pole length: 80 mm

 

Applications:

  • Demagnetization curves (max. possible coercivity = 2.3 T) of ferrites, AlNiCo,  Sm-Co, Nd-Fe-B magnets
  • Determination of
    • remanence (Br),
    • magnetic field strength (HCJ, HCB, Hmax, HK),
    • max. energy product ((BH)max),
    • temperature coefficient (α, ß)
  • Temperature-sensitive measurements up to 200 °C
  • Magnetically soft samples: Hysteresis loops, determination of magnetic characteristics up to field strength of 55 kA/m

 

Technical Equipment:     

Magnetically hard materials (Fa. Magnet-Physik Dr. Steingroever)

  • Impulse magnetizer, up to 9 T: samples with diameters up to 40 mm
  • Permagraph: iron yoke with Fe– and FeCo poles
  • Heatable poles up to 200 °C
  • Various coil dimensions

Magnetically soft materials (Fa. Magnet-Physik Dr. Steingroever)

  • Remagraph: Field strength up to 55 kA/m for magnetic measurements of poles, plates and rings
