Opening of the second location in Hanau

Presse information /

On 29 June 2012 the Fraunhofer Project Group for Materials Recycling and Resource Strategies IWKS of the Fraunhofer ISC celebrated the opening of its location in the Industriepark Hanau-Wolfgang. Following its establishment in Alzenau in September 2011, the project group now has its second centre.

While research in Alzenau has concentrated mainly on the possible topics of electrics, electronic waste; slag heaps, landfills as well as biomaterials and foodstuffs, Hanau will address the areas of magnets and lighting systems.

The strategic interweaving of the areas of resource strategies, recycling and substitution is the special feature and unique selling point of the Fraunhofer Project Group IWKS. It is the basis for the development of innovative technologies in close cooperation with companies from the Rhine-Main region and beyond. With the support of the Hessian Ministry of Science, the project group in Hanau will be developed in harmony with the location at Alzenau.
